Celebrating almost 30 years as a band, THE MERMEN, the implacably iconoclastic instrumental rock trio from San Francisco, California, are releasing a new album "We Could See It in the Distance". Together they create a musical pilgrimage starting from ambient oceanic dreamscape to relentless grindcore and back again; into a West Coast audio odyssey flowing through the Byrds, Neil Young and early Jerry Garcia before finally washing up on a decidedly wild and seldom visited beach. Far from gentle waves and pleasant temperatures but no less soothing to the spirit, this new music of The Mermen is a coherent assembly of disparate songs wherein the whole is clearly rewarding when listened to as the sum of its parts.

"We Could See It in the Distance" features Jim, Martyn, and Jennifer and contains 14 songs and 79:55 minutes of music. Cover art is by Ket Conway; Graphic cover design by Denise Halbe.
